Summer in Seattle

What is your favorite event to attend throughout the summer in Seattle? Seattle has great events for all ages from May until September. Attractions, movies, or summer dancing are all great options in our beautiful city. Keep reading our blog to learn about all of these great events within a short drive from your home at Equinox.

Seattle’s Great Wheel is perfect for every occasion from a day out with the kids to a first date night with your new beau. Admission is $13 for adults and $8.50 for kids 11 and under. The largest observation wheel on the west coast is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 AM until midnight so there’s plenty of time to ride! If you’re lucky enough to be riding on a special holiday you might get to see a laser light show! Only a 10 minute drive away from the Equinox Apartments.

This summer there are 15 chances for you to Dance til Dark in one of Seattle’s beautiful parks. Have two left feet? That’s okay! Beginner’s dance lessons are offered in the first hour of the night for anyone just getting started or feeling a little rusty. The best part of it all is that all lessons and dances are free!

Sticking with the outdoors at dark theme, you can try a outdoor movie! Perfect for the kids or a date night (depending on the movie). There are so many parks and outdoor theaters offering outdoor movies. Fremont Outdoor Cinema (a 15 minute drive from Equinox), Marymore Park (Only 20 minutes away) and West Seattle Outdoor Movies are just a few examples of the places you can find to see an outdoor movie this summer. There is no shortage of farmer’s markets around Seattle for you to visit. The fresh, local produce will help enhance any meal you make. Check out the U-District on University Way or West Seattle Farmer’s Market in West Seattle Junction. For a list of other farmer’s markets in the area go here. See what delicious fruits and veggies you can find at any one of the local farmer’s markets.

Summer is the best time to take a relaxing water taxi ride for a scenic tour of the bay before taking a stroll down Alki Beach. If the beach isn’t your thing, you can take a walk through West Seattle for a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants before window shopping through the shops and stores. The water taxi port is a short 10 minute drive away from Equinox Apartments.

Seattle Concerts Are Piling Up This Summer



This summer is heating up fast but not because of the sun. The shows and musical acts coming into town in the upcoming months are going to set the city on fire. Spanning everything from comedy shows to country concerts to star studded pop shows, there is a show this summer for everyone. You better strap in because this summer is going to be a wild ride!

Ingrid Michaelson will be performing at the Paramount Theater on June 17 with guests Jukebox the Ghost and Greg Holden. Michaelson’s indie-pop tunes have given us songs like The Way I Am and Girls Chase Boys.

If you’d prefer a laugh to the sweet notes of a singer-songwriter, check out Dana Carvey at the Tacoma Dome on June 17. Along with Carvey will be Dennis Miller and Kevin Nealon.

Hot House Party 2 is taking it back to the 90’s with Bell Biv DeVoe, Coolio, Lisa, Lisa, Next, Young MC and Rob Base. The hip-hop and rap acts are not to be missed! You’ll want to throw on your denim jacket and crimp your hair.

Chicago will be rolling into Seattle on June 20th. Performing at the Chateau St. Michelle, you won’t want to miss this show!

The same night you can see Amy Schumer and some of her comedian colleagues like Judd Apatow, Dave Attell, Vanessa Bayer, Mike Birbiglia and Colin Quinn do live stand-up comedy at the Moore Theater to promote the new movie Trainwreck coming soon.

On July 11, see Zac Brown Band perform including songs from their new album Jeckyll and Hyde. Gorge Amphitheater.

July 12 brings with it J. Cole, Big Sean, YG and Jeremih to the White River Amphitheater for the Forest Hills Drive Tour.

You won’t want to miss One Direction when the boy band comes to CenturyLink Field on July 15th.

August 2nd will bring together rock and rap for one show that’s going to tear the house down. Fall Out Boy and Wiz Khalifa are touring together this summer along with Hoodie Allen and DJ Drama.

On August 5th you can “Let It Go” with Idina Menzel at the Paramount Theater. Fans of Broadway and Frozen will love this show.

Summer is going to be musical and filled with laughs. There are no excuses for you to stay home this summer. These are all can’t miss acts and there’s something here for every music style and age and sense of humor. Don’t miss out! Most of these shows are within an hour’s drive away from Aspira, some are even within walking distance!

Fun Concerts in Seattle

Grab a blanket and a few drinks and head to these outdoor concerts in Seattle. There are many outdoor shows all summer long in the city. You can see big headliners or even some small local bands play the stage almost every week. The best part is that all of these concerts are within a short drive from Equinox Apartments. 

Marymoor Park Concerts

Marymoor Park is located Redmond, Washington.  This gorgeous park features trails, rentals, aquatics along with their summer concert series. The summer concert series is located within the park at the 5000-capacity outdoor venue, making it the best place in Seattle for outdoor concerts. There is a five dollar concert parking fee for each show. Here are some of the great bands playing at Marymoor.

Head to the Woodland Zoo to see some of today's top artists at their gorgeous venue with its beautiful backdrop of the North Meadow. Woodland Park Zoo is located at 5500 Phinney Ave. N., Seattle WA 98103.  These concerts require tickets that can be purchased ahead of time at the Woodland Park Zoo's website. Best Brunches Near Aspira

Getting up early on the weekends can be hard, but we think these brunches are well worth the effort. Make sure to set your alarm to try the best brunches in Seattle. After a long weekend, getting up to french toast and a mimosa is a great way to relax. These brunches are all within a short distance of Aspira Apartments.


Just a short walk from Aspira Apartments you can grab some delicious brunch at TanakaSan. This place is perfect for sharing with friends or a loved one as it’s menu is dim sum-inspired. Hop in the car for a minute or two to have brunch at Terra Plata. This local brunch spot serves savory and sweet menu items all made from fresh local ingredients. Get up early this weekend to try the french inspired menu at Cafe Champagne.  This local brunch spot has fans all around the city. You can enjoy their brunch Saturdays or Sundays from 8am-4pm.
