Memorial Day Weekend is almost here. It is time for parades, cookouts, and events to celebrate the unofficial first weekend of summer. It is also a time to remember those who fought and served for our country. There are many events happening around Seattle and Aspira Apartments for you to attend. Keep reading to learn more about some great Seattle Memorial Day events below.
Northwest Folklife Festival
This weekend you can head to the the 44th annual Northwest Folklife Festival. This is one of the largest free folklife festivals in the country. The festival runs from May 22nd -25th at the Lower Queen Anne, Seattle Center. This festival lets you watch over 7,000 diverse performances including over 100 cultural dance showcases, workshops, arts vendors, food, and activities for all ages. Memorial Day Weekend Fun Run
Maybe this weekend you want to get out and get some exercise. Then, this Memorial Day Weekend Fun Run is perfect for you. This run is May 23rd at 10am at Magnuson Park. Your furry friend can even have fun at the dog park after the run. Entry fees are from $18-$28 dollars. You can learn more at their website MagnusonSeries.
Memorial Day Ceremony
Do not forget to take a moment and remember those that have fought and served our country. The Memorial Day Ceremony will occur at Boeing Field, Museum of Flight in Seattle. The event is free and will honor anyone who has served our military. The event will begin at 11am with music and presentations remembering our service men and women. Also, all active and veteran military personnel will receive free admission to the museum with identification. You can learn more here.
